Looking for a spot the entire family can take in Mardi Gras free of cigarette smoke and alcohol?

Such a place does exist.

For the eight consecutive year, the Good Earth Transit System, located at 7617 Main St., is designated an Alcohol, Tobacco & Drug-Free Zone for all West Side parades. The site is patrolled by uniformed officers, who ensure those in the area abide by the alcohol, tobacco and drug-free rules, according to parish officials.

Have any questions about the zone? Contact (985) 879-2273.
