Want to do More than Watch? You Can Be Part of the Action

The Nicholls Players will be holding tryouts for “The Great American Trailer Park Musical,” which will take place March 17-20 in the Talbot Theater.

Those interested in playing one of many available parts should attend the tryouts Nov. 29-30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Le Bijou Theater in the Nicholls Student Union.

Performers must bring 32 bars (a verse/chorus/verse/chorus) of a modern or contemporary country, southern rock or blues tune to be sung a capella. Auditions will also include cold readings from the script.

There are principal roles for two men, five women and the chorus includes three men and women.

Never seen the show? According to director Daniel Ruiz, it’s a bit like “South Park” meets “Desperate Housewives,” complete with a stripper on the run, a regular guy named Norbert and his agoraphobic wife.
