As the temperatures continue to drop, the need for winter essentials will increase. Amedisys Home Health is partnering with Healthy Heart Clinics to help keep Lafourche Parish senior citizens warm this holiday season. AHH is hosting a winter drive on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at One Acadiana located at 804 E St. Mary Blvd in Lafayette, LA.

The group will be distributing blankets, space heaters, grip socks, and coats to senior citizens in the Lafourche, Lafayette, and Morgan City community, especially those affected by Hurricane Ida.

Community Relations Coordinator Mary Phan says there is a great need for winter items, especially with the community recovering from Hurricane Ida, “This will be our second winter drive, and we really just wanted to help our senior citizens stay warm. After Ida, we felt like there was really a need for essentials in Lafourche Parish, so I reached out to Charlene with Lafourche Council on Aging, and asked if we could help,” she said.

Phan said Amedisys’ partnership with One Acadian and Healthy Hearts of America was a team effort and the company looks forward to serving the community together. “We are so excited to partner with the Healthy Heart Clinic of America and One Acadian for the drive, they share the same passion and vision as we do, and they also serve the same community,” she added.
