Congratulations to Mr. Tyler Wiggins of H.L. Bourgeois High School for being selected as one of the recipients of the 2023 Outstanding Jazz Educators from across the state by the Louisiana Association for Jazz Education!
“I am truly honored to have won this award,” said Wiggins. “When I first took over as Director of Bands at H.L. Bourgeois five years ago, I wanted our jazz program to have a more significant role. We have made many changes to the program and created a great organization not commonly found in our local schools. It’s great to have attention brought to this fun ensemble and Terrebonne Parish Schools.”
Wiggins will be recognized prior to the Hall of Fame Ceremony before the 2023 LMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble Concert on November 19, 2023 in Baton Rouge.
Those who are interested in seeing the H.L. Bourgeois Jazz Ensemble perform should come out the H.L. Bourgeois Auditorium on December 14, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. for their next performance.
