The Lockport Police Department and the Town of Lockport have announced they will be hosting a town-wide Christmas Decorating Contest and Scavenger Hunt!
“The holidays can be financially hard, and not everyone can afford to decorate to the max,” said Lockport PD Chief David Harrelson. “So we decided that instead of picking one winner, any house who decorated even a little bit would be entered into a drawing for a gift card– it doesn’t matter if its one string of lights, or a Griswold-style decoration. This is just a great, positive thing to do for our community that everyone benefits from.” Chief Harrelson said they are expecting over 100 houses to participate in the contest. Every house with any sort of lights or decorations will be entered into a drawing for a Rouses gift card. The drawing will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023.
Chief Harrelson also said that the local Police Department would once again be hosting their town-wide Christmas Scavenger Hunt this year from Monday, December 11, 2023- Sunday, December 17, 2023. “Families love riding around looking at decorations anyways, so we wanted to turn it into a fun game for everyone to enjoy,” explained Chief Harrelson. “For the hunt, we pick a decoration or something memorable on each home that people can look for and have fun doing it. It’s a free, fun way to spend the days leading up to Christmas– we are so happy to be bringing it back to the community this year.” If you are interested in being a featured location for the scavenger hunt, please contact Chief Harrelson at (985) 532-9799. Stay tuned for more information about how to participate in the scavenger hunt!
