A restricted license designation on a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) hunting license indicates that there is no Hunter Education certification linked to the customer’s account. This can normally be resolved by the hunter by contacting the LDWF license vendor ENVOC Helpdesk at 225-267-9996.

Some of the common reasons for the designation include:

  • The hunter has not completed a Hunter Education course;
  • Duplicate LDWF accounts;
  • Name change;
  • Misspelled name;
  • Incorrect date of birth.

If a person has a restricted license and has successfully completed a hunter education course in the past, the first step to correct his or her account is to contact ENVOC Helpdesk.

Showing proof of hunter education certification will allow a person to hunt unsupervised if he or she is 12 or older.
