This Christmas season, the Haven, Inc. in Houma will be bringing back their Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program!
“This annual program provides Christmas presents to children living in our emergency shelter, second stage housing projects, or receiving services through our program,” explains a statement from the Haven. “Our Adopt-A-Family Program matches generous community members with families from our shelter by providing family profiles and wish lists.”
People wishing to participate in the Haven’s Adopt-A-Family Program will be provided with a family Christmas Wish List, which will detail toys or other items that each child in the family wishes to receive for Christmas. For donors wishing to provide a gift for parents, an optional gift list is included. Families range in size from 1-5, and the donor can specify the size of family and age ranges of children. The deadline to deliver gifts is Thursday, December 14, 2023. Gifts may be wrapped or unwrapped.
