Terrebonne General Medical Center has named its Chief of Medical Staff and Vice-Chief of Staff for the next year.

In a news release, TGMC announced that Frederick Rau, MD, will be the Chief of Medical Staff and William St. Martin, MD, will be Vice-Chief of Staff for the next year.


Dr. Rau was the Vice-Chief of Staff for the past two years.

Dr. St. Martin has served on the Medical Executive Committee for the past four years. 

Dr. Rau is a Houma native who has been practicing medicine for more than 36 years. He is a general surgeon at Bayou Surgical Specialists. 


Dr. St. Martin is also a Houma native. He’s practiced in the area for more than 25 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. 

In these roles, the two men will provide medical leadership and direction to TGMC’s highly specialized medical staff and they’ll oversee medical staff activities related to improving the quality of clinical services. 

TGMC has more than 300 doctors and medical specialists, 34 medical subspecialties and 7 subspecialties.
