It’s time again for Nicholls State University to celebrate its “Fete de la Famille,” the university’s annual Family Day celebration.

The entire Nicholls community is invited to help the university celebrate on Saturday, Oct. 18, next to John L. Guidry Stadium.

The festival consists of Nicholls department and organization displays, food booths, arts and crafts and live entertainment.

The festivities will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a performance by Treater.

Food tickets can also be purchased.

While fest goers are browsing the many displays, they can have their pick of a variety of food from jambalaya, hamburgers, cotton candy and sodas.

For the children, there will be displays, interactive game booths, face painting and craft making booths and jumping inflatables.

Faculty, staff and students are also invited to bring their well-mannered pets to the University College booth for pet treats – as long as the pets are leashed or kenneled.

The family fun day concludes around 1:30 p.m., just before the 2 p.m. Nicholls versus Stephen F. Austin football game in Guidry stadium.

Family Day participants may purchase reduced-admission tickets to the football game for $5 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at West Gate 2 and East Gate 1 of the stadium.

After 1:30 p.m., tickets will be sold at regular price.

Food tickets purchased during Family Day will also be accepted at concession stands inside the stadium.
