A long-running fued between two Houma females heated up Jan. 4 when one woman attacked the other, said a Houma Police spokeswoman.

Lt. Todd Duplantis said a 17-year-old woman was stopped at a signal light at the intersection of Park Avenue and Morgan Street when she was attacked. Shantel Smith, 20, of Houma, jumped out of a tan Chevy Impala and pepper sprayed the teen in the face, got back into her car and drove away, he said.

On Thursday, police located Smith on Morgan Street and issued her a summons for simple battery, he said.
