Bayou STEM has announced the start of their new community-based Robotics Competition (FRC) Team! Join other local students in the ultimate sport for your mind.

“We are looking for competitors (9th-12th graders) in a variety of interest areas, and we are also looking for coaches and mentors who can assist with the robot build,” reads an official post from Bayou STEM.

The new Robotics Competition team will be based out of Fletcher Technical Community College in Schriever, and will provide the opportunity for students to build and program industrial sized-robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitions– bringing students as close to real-world engineering as possible. The program will also challenge students to raise funds, design a “brand,” and hone teamwork skills, finishing the season with an exciting Championship.

Interested, but still unsure if you should join the team? Bayou STEM will host a recruiting and information event on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Integrated Production Technologies Building on the FTCC Campus in Schriever. Please RSVP for the event here.
