Terrebonne Parish officials say four youths escaped from its juvenile detention center Friday afternoon, and a search is on-going.


According to initial reports the escaped teens were in the center’s recreation yard with a guard and four others.

The guard was said to have been distracted by one teen grabbing the guard’s two-way radio. Officials said the foursome escaped by climbing an awning before climbing over a fence. They were last seen heading north near Highway 311 in Gray, near where the detention center is located.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter confirmed to deputies and detectives who responded to the center at 180 Government St. in Gray.


Clothing was recovered in the area, Larpenter said, and so what the youths are wearing is unknown Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Justice Complex, 180 Government St. Gray, La.

The teens were identified as the following:

Terrell Akeem Williams, 17, of 100 Chateau Ct. Renata Lakes Apt. 180, Houma, 5’11’’ weighing 134 pounds. His charges are simple burglary, simple arson and criminal damage to property. 


Jovante Miller, 15, 9158 Main St. Houma, 5’1” tall, 125 lbs. He was being held for theft, simple battery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. 

Benyami Williams Walker, 15,101 Zazoo Ct., Gibson, 5’4” 120 lbs. He has a charge of simple burglary. 

Curtis Michael Hogan, 16, 305 B. Jefferson St. Napoleonville, 5’9” 165 lbs. He has charges of second-degree battery and aggravated battery.
