Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet would like to provide residents and visitors to Terrebonne Parish with up-to-date information on the marsh fire that remains active in the Bull Run Road area.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Schriever Fire Department, who is managing the fire response in the affected area.  The fire is located between Bull Run Road and Hwy 90, and currently poses no immediate threat to any structures or homes.  Local and State officials are aware of the situation and are actively working to mitigate the situation.

Sheriff Tim Soignet would like to remind the public of the challenges that the fire poses to driving conditions on our roadways of this parish.  We have seen that the smoke lowers roadway visibility considerably, especially during night and early morning hours.  Sheriff Soignet urges travelers to remain patient, cautious, and aware of their surroundings, if you must drive.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide any services needed until the conclusion of this incident.
