Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center was hit with a new list of demands Thursday from the LSU Health Care System and Department of Health and Hospital, resulting in $14.3 million in cuts and the loss of 245 jobs for the public hospital.

Chabert CEO Rhonda Green said she is already in the process of working with board of supervisor officials to determine exactly how and where those cuts will be made. Her deadline is January 1, 2013.

“This is part of the mid-year cuts, and in addition to the $3.7 million we were told to cut in August.” Green said. “We will be looking at yet another cut in July 2013.”

Green said her biggest concern, in addition to what will become of employees, is the medical center’s residency program and its future.
