Approximately 500 people have been anticipating tonight’s Chamber of Commerce banquet at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

The gathering of business leaders is set to feature a presentation by Scott Rasmussen, founder and president of Rasmussen Reports.

Rasmussen founded his media company in 2003 and during the past eight years it has grown into being one of the premier sources for public information and a resource for news agencies around the globe.

Rasmussen Reports provides in-depth data, commentary and coverage of general, lifestyle, political, economic, and business news issues. The company operates on the slogan, “If it’s in the news, it’s in our polls.”

Rasmussen and his company have become a respected resource of informational data and statistics with a reputation of delivering reliable, newsworthy and active public opinion data by translating numbers into meaningful analysis.

Tonight’s event is also listed as a time for Chamber members to install new officers and offer awards for both the small and large businesses of the year. The teenager of the year will also be recognized and awarded a scholarship.

Following a reception that begins at 6 p.m., the banquet program is slated to take place between 7 and 9 p.m.
