Terrebonne Parish’s Coteau Road has been closed between New Orleans Boulevard and Prospect Street so the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) can replace an aging bridge over Bayou St. Louis.

Also known as La. Highway 660, Coteau Road has been closed since Monday and is not expected to open until March 19.

To bypass the construction, DOTD has advised eastbound motorists to take New Orleans Boulevard (La. Highway 182) east to Bayou Gardens Boulevard (La. Highway 316) and head East. Prospect Street (La. Highway 3087) can then be taken south to return to the open section of Coteau Road.

Those driving westbound should take Prospect Street north to Bayou Gardens Drive and head west. Eastbound New Orleans Boulevard will then take drivers back to the Coteau Road.

DOTD reminds motorists to watch out for construction crews working in the area.
