Suspects sought for throwing rocks at vehicles

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the person or persons who deputies say threw rocks at vehicles on La. Highway 1 near its intersection with Lafourche Crossing in Thibodaux.

LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said several vehicles sustained minor damage in the incident.

The incident came to the attention of deputies at 7 p.m. on Feb. 20 after deputies were dispatched to the location in reference to rock throwers on the side of the road.

Once on location, deputies observed six vehicles with damage, mostly on the passenger side windows or windshields or to the roof of each vehicle.

A K-9 unit searched the area in an attempt to track the subjects, but was unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433. Anyone giving a tip that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
