After receiving treatment and being discharged, TPD spokesman David Melancon said the man refused to leave and then defecated all over the lobby bathroom.

Raceland felon caught with narcotics and firearm

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said his parish’s streets are safer this week after deputies arrested a felon in Raceland.

LPSO spokesman deputy Brennan Matherne said Ricky J. Trosclair, 25, of 2861 La. Highway 1, Raceland, was caught in possession of drugs and a firearm during a traffic stop last Monday.

He is charged with a parole violation, as well as charges of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and resisting an officer.

Matherne said the traffic stop was initiated after authorities learned that Trosclair possibly had drugs in his possession. He was also wanted for a violation of parole and a suspended driver’s license.

Around 10:45 a.m. last Monday, Matherne said narcotics agents spotted the suspect in his black Lincoln MKZ in Raceland.

Agents initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and approached Trosclair, who initially gave authorities a false identity, according to Matherne.

A Department of Probation and Parole officer was called to the scene and accurately identified Trosclair.

Matherne said agents then called a K-9 unit to the scene and searched the perimeter of Trosclair’s vehicle.

After a positive hit, agents searched the vehicle and discovered approximately eight grams of methamphetamine and more than five grams of marijuana. Matherne said agents also located a handgun and $3,200 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.

Trosclair was placed under arrest on the scene.

He is held without bond due to a parole violation.
