The Houma Police Department has arrested a man it believes stole $11 from a man at gunpoint.

HPD said at 1:06 a.m. Thursday morning, it was called to a lounge on the 900 block of Main Street in reference to a disturbance.

Once on the scene, authorities said they came in contact with Herman Williams IV, 24, of Larry Street, Houma.

Police said Williams was attempting to discard a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana when authorities came in contact with him.

HPD said Williams was taken into custody without incident. Once in custody, officers located suspected ecstasy and a hypothermic needle in his possession, which were seized as evidence.

Upon further investigation, officers spoke to a 24-year-old male who said Williams held him at gunpoint and took $11 from him.

Authorities said that Williams said the money was “for his baby’s momma.”

Officers located a fully loaded black revolver gun outside of the building and seized it as evidence.

While in jail, officers also found a bag of suspected cocaine on Williams, which they said he inhaled upon his arrest.

Williams is charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm, obstruction of justice and several drug charges.

He was also wanted on warrants for contempt of court and no driver’s license.

Drug Task Force operation nets five arrests

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre and Golden Meadow Police Chief Reggie Pitre announced that five people were arrested this week as part of a Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force operation in Golden Meadow.

Authorities said that Daffney Kiger, 37, of 505C N. Bayou Drive, Golden Meadow; Larone Gray, 38, of 506 St. Charles Bypass Road, Thibodaux and Damoz Folse, 19, of 170 Triple Oaks Drive, Raceland, were all arrested in the operation.

Following the initial arrests, Webre said Raceland men Javon Folse, 25, of 488 Ayo St. and Billy Coleman, 31, of 319 St. Louis St., were also arrested in a traffic stop.

The operation started when task force agents were conducting surveillance on Kiger’s Golden Meadow residence due to her having active warrants for her arrest.

During the watch, authorities said they noticed a vehicle leaving the home driven by Coleman, who had an active warrant for distribution of crack cocaine.

When agents initiated a stop on Coleman’s vehicle, authorities said he fled the scene on foot and was apprehended.

His passenger, Javon Folse, was also found to have warrants for domestic abuse battery involving strangulation, domestic abuse with child endangerment, home invasion and contempt of court.

Both were booked on the above-mentioned charges.

Back at the residence, LPSO spokesman deputy Brennan Matherne said agents were joined by members of the Golden Meadow Police Department.

While there, they made contact with Kiger and arrested her on warrants for distribution of crack cocaine and illegal use of controlled dangerous substances in the presence of persons under 17.

Gray, Damoz Folse and a minor were also at the residence. Gray and Folse were also taken into custody after a search of the place yielded 8.4 gross grams of suspected heroin, two bags of suspected marijuana, a partially smoked marijuana cigar, 12 suspected Valium pills and other various prescription drugs.

Kiger, Gray and Damoz Folse were charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of marijuana (second offense for Folse and Gray), possession of Valium and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that a 60-year-old male is in custody after deputies said he stabbed a victim with a butcher knife.

TPSO deputies said that last Saturday at 6:15 p.m., they were called to the 3500 block of Friendswood Drive in reference to a disturbance.

Once on the scene, authorities learned that a fight had taken place between two Vietnamese males prior to their arrival.

While on the scene, authorities said they located the butcher knife they believe was used in the fight and seized it as evidence.

During the investigation, Wolfe said authorities tried to speak with several witnesses who didn’t speak English.

Chauvin man jailed for stabbing

A romantic crush went too far in Chauvin last month according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect is now in custody for his alleged crime.

Authorities said that they were called to 4849 Bayouside Drive in Chauvin on Oct. 9, in reference to a disturbance with a knife.

Once on the scene, deputies came in contact with a 17-year-old female victim who had a minor cut on her arm.

The victim said that Andre Flores, 25, of 4849 Bayouside Drive, Chauvin, cut her with a knife.

Authorities said they learned that Flores was upset when he entered the residence and saw another male sitting on the sofa with his head on the victim’s shoulder.

Following the initial report, deputies patrolled the area and couldn’t find Flores.

On Nov. 10 at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies were patrolling the same area and they contacted Flores and placed him under arrest without incident.

He is charged with aggravated battery and an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court.
