Terrebonne man arrested for burglary of a vehicle; drugs

A Montegut man is facing a list of criminal charges after he allegedly broke into a pair of vehicles near the 100 block of Arcement Street in the southern Terrebonne Parish town.

Last Tuesday night, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene and made contact with a resident who said he witnessed a man breaking into two cars. According to TPSO, the witness showed the deputy the vehicles broken into, as well as pointed the direction to which the suspect fled.

Upon receiving this information, other deputies patrolling the area located the suspect walking on South Louisiana Avenue. He was identified as Andy LeBouef, 34, of 106 Old Oak St., Montegut. During a search of the suspect, two stolen iPhones, CDs, headphones and a prescription bill bottle were located, according to TPSO.

LeBouef was arrested and is charged with two counts of simple burglary of a vehicle, criminal trespassing and possession of a legend drug without a prescription. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 985-876-2500. The suspect remains in the Terrebonne Jail on a $20,000 bond.

Larose man arrested for residential burglary

Fingerprints will help pen a Larose man to a string of burglaries in the parish, according to sheriff’s office deputies and investigators.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre said that during the early morning hours of July 10, patrolling deputies were near the area of East 19th Street in Larose due to reports of recent thefts and suspicious vehicles in the area.

Authorities said that while in the area, a man made contact with officers and claimed that his residence had just been burglarized. Through investigation, deputies learned that an unknown suspect had entered the victim’s residence through the front door and took items of value before leaving.

Investigating officers were able to obtain fingerprints left at the scene and took them in for examination.

Officers also made contact with a man in the area and identified him as Russell LeBouef, 34, of 486 East 19th St., Larose. Authorities took LeBouef in for questioning, during which he claimed he saw two other males arrive in a car and then leave the scene.

Through fingerprint analysis, the fingerprint located at the home was positively identified as LeBoeuf’s. Deputies then confirmed with the victim that LeBouef had never been inside the home with permission.

Once this was done, he was arrested and booked on charges of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose. LeBouef is being held by the Louisiana Probation and Parole Board.

Woman arrested for theft

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest on a theft complaint it responded to in June.

On June 19, deputies responded to a complaint of cash and jewelry being missing from a residence. Once on the scene, deputies learned the items were missing following a cleaning service performed at the home by a local cleaning service. During initial investigation, deputies developed Jenny Terrebonne, 34, of 176 East 144th St., Galliano, as a suspect. She is an employee of the cleaning service that cleaned the victim’s house.

Through investigation, detectives said they learned that Terrebonne took the jewelry and then pawned it at a local pawn shop. The jewelry was actually found to belong to another victim whose home Terrebonne cleaned for the cleaning service.

Detectives obtained a warrant for felony theft. They located her on July 14.

Lafourche makes several DWI arrests over weekend

Six people were charged with DWI in Lafourche Parish this weekend – including one whose blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.

At around 2 a.m. last Saturday morning, patrol deputies traveling along U.S. Highway 90 noticed a vehicle traveling slowly in the passing lane suddenly brake and change lanes without a signal. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identifying him as Patrick Plaisance, 44, of 133 Crest Road, Raceland. Deputies detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Plaisance’s breath and he displayed signs of possible intoxication during the pullover. Deputies conducted a standardized field sobriety test on Plaisance on which he performed poorly, according to deputies.

After that authorities sought a breath test on Plaisance, which he refused, causing deputies to obtain a warrant for a blood test.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital and resisted violently, according to authorities, but a blood sample was drawn, which is pending results at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Plaisance is held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center for fourth-offense DWI, resisting an officer with violence, driving under suspension, improper lane usage and failure to use a turn signal.

He is being held in lieu of a $51,500 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose.

On Sunday just before 8 p.m., deputies in the Raceland area stopped two men – Michael Schmidt, 35, of 300 Canal Lane, Houma and Troy Dupre, 48, of 405 Weatherby Lane, Bayou Blue. Both men admitted to driving, but refused field sobriety tests, but blew into the breathalyzer.

Dupre blew more than three times above the legal limit, while Schmidt was above the limit, as well. Both men were charged with first-offense DWI.

Also arrested this week on DWI charges were the following:

• David Hartman, 45, of 7115 6th St., Lockport, second-offense DWI

• John Marshall, 27, of 117 East 138th St., Galliano

• Chad Fox, 43, of 500 Mobile Estates Drive, Gray
