Man booked for bathtub theft


A Houma man was arrested after he allegedly failed a clean theft of a bathtub and several pieces of galvanized pipe from a trailer along Howard Avenue.


Freddie Lee Hart, 63, of 8963 Main St., brought the stolen goods to Southern Scrap, according to the Houma Police Department. He was arrested and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Jail for theft under $500 and a contempt of court warrant.

His partner in crime, a white male, remains at large, police said.


Witnesses tipped the Houma Police Department regarding the duo’s alleged theft attempt. Police said they were seen piling the goods into a pickup truck.

Lafourche agents seize drugs, gun and cash in Raceland


Two Lafourche Parish men were arrested after a marijuana sighting led deputies to discover $3,000 in illegal drugs, $2,800 in cash and firearms in a Raceland mobile home, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.


Javiri Bradley, 32, of 173 Fontinelle St., Lockport, and Jeremiah Lyons, 27, of 3722 La. Highway 1, Raceland, were booked on drug and weapons charges.

Deputies received a tip that marijuana had been seen at the Williams Street mobile home.


Upon arrival, they discovered 460 grams of marijuana packed in small amounts, 7.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, two bottles of liquid Codeine/Promethazine and various drug paraphernalia, LPSO spokesman Brennan Matherne said. Agents also found nearly $3,000 in cash on Lyons’ person and three handguns, including a fully loaded revolver.


Both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and crack cocaine, possession of codeine and drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Bradley was additional charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of a $165,250 bond.


Lyons is being held in lieu of a $65,250 bond.


The Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole filed holds on both men, Matherne said.

Smoke-out in Pizza Hut parking lot pre-empts arrest

A Houma man smoking marijuana in his vehicle from a Pizza Hut parking lot was allegedly found to also have heroin, cocaine and a syringe in his possession, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office announced.

Antonio Sanchez Starks, 35, of 306 Marmande St., was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, drug paraphernalia and illegal proceeds derived from drug transactions. He was awaiting bond in the Terrebonne Parish Jail.

Deputies received a tip that a man was sitting in a brown SUV in the parking lot while smoking marijuana, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said.

Upon arrival, deputies smelled the aroma and searched the vehicle. They allegedly found 0.9 grams of marijuana, 3.6 grams of heroin and 0.2 grams of cocaine.

Man admits to TV theft from Target, sheriff says

A Westwego man allegedly admitted his attempt to steals flat-screen televisions from Target in Houma was an effort to derive money to fuel his crack-cocaine habit, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office announced.

Jean Paul Falgout, 42, 1200 Pine St., Westwego, was booked at the Terrebonne Parish Jail after he was caught leaving the department store with two televisions in a shopping cart. He did not pay for the electronics and was held at the scene by Target’s loss prevention department, Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said.

Falgout was already wanted for the theft of televisions from Walmart stores in Thibodaux and Houma, Larpenter said.

Falgout is being held in lieu of a $62,500 bond.

Missing Houma man’s body recovered in Amelia

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office said no foul play was suspected after deputies recovered the body of a missing 20-year-old Houma man in Amelia.

The Houma Police Department announced April 17 that Hunter Robards, of 100 Ansley Place, was missing after last being seen April 13. He was found that evening inside a 2010 Dodge pickup truck on a property located on La. Highway 182 and Duhon Bypass Road.

The St. Mary Parish coroner pronounced Robards dead at the scene.
