A Thibodaux woman was jailed last week after deputies caught her inside her ex-employer’s coffee shop in Houma, the sheriff’s office reported.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois said deputies responded to a “burglary in progress” call at 8:35 p.m. at the Factor Coffee Shop on West Park Avenue. Inside the shop’s dining room, they found Sandra Andras, 42, of 201 Camilia Drive.

Bourgeois said Andras had been reportedly fired from the coffee shop weeks earlier after she allegedly stole cash from the business.

Deputies recovered a small amount of cash, which Andras allegedly took during the burglary. They also seized a crack pipe and a pair of cutting pliers she had in her possession.

Andras was already under investigation for the earlier theft complaint, the sheriff said.

She was charged with simple burglary, possession of burglary tools and drug paraphernalia and felony theft. Andras also had a warrant for her arrested for a contempt of court charge.

The burglary case remains under investigation. Bourgeois is asking anyone with information about the incident to call the detective bureau at (985) 876-2500.
