Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter is joined by other officials, including Parish President Michel Claudet and Houma Police Chief Todd Duplantis, at Friday’s opening of the new rifle range. The 8,000-square-foot range replaces a smaller range at 2100 Savanne Road and costs about $200,000. Use of inmate labor, the work of staff and other factors, Larpenter said, shaved about $800,000 off the initial cost.
