Beginning tomorrow, Lafourche Parish citizens will be free to pop fireworks to celebrate the holiday season.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office sent out a release this morning outlining the parish’s fireworks schedule during the Christmas season.

On Dec. 15 at noon, fireworks will be able to be popped until nighttime curfew begins at 9 p.m.

From Dec. 16-Dec. 23, citizens will have 12 hours a day to pop fireworks, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m, and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, hours expand from 9 a.m. – midnight.

From Dec. 26-Dec. 30, hours return to 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and on New Year’s Eve, they expand back to midnight.

In its release, LPSO said it wanted to urge citizens to use caution when popping fireworks.

It also reminded citizens that the poppers are banned in Terrebonne Parish, Thibodaux and in the Town of Golden Meadow, except in Oakridge Park.
