Nationally-recognized and locally-based country musicians will share the stage at a free concert to benefit Louisiana fishermen and the wetlands.

It will feature several artists including Jamie O’Neal, Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, Sammy Kershaw, Jo-El Sonnier and David St. Romain. It will be held at Fort Jackson in Buras on Sept 4.

Amy Jones, co-founder of Protect Our Coastline, says the event’s goal is to maintain public awareness and raise money for the Friends of the Fisherman Fund, the Barrier Island Restoration and Development Society, and the Recreational Fisheries Research Institute.

Jones says corporate sponsorships are still available for the event.
