Thibodaux elementary school teacher Mohamed Belaiche and Nicholls State University professor Dr. Robin White are leading a legion of linguists and seeking French-speaking residents to assist in preserving French language and culture in southeast Louisiana.

Coordinators along with White and Belaiche include Labadieville retired teacher and Houma Table Francaise member Ray Malbrough. The CDFL meets every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Wetlands Acadian Culture Center, 314 St. Mary Street in Thibodaux. On the second Tuesday of each month the group will meet at 206 Peltier Hall at Nicholls State University.

During February and March, participants are receiving presentations on various Francophone cultures.
