Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Houma man early Tuesday after a caller reported shots had been fired in the 2200 block of Bayou Blue Road.


According to a release, deputies encountered the black 1991 Ford pickup truck driven by the man suspected of having fired a gun around 12:10 a.m. Tuesday.


Deputies stopped Adam Ellis Kirby, 24, of #26 Rembert Court.

Kirby admitted to the altercation with another man on Bayou Blue Road.


Inside the truck, deputies found a .380-caliber handgun, 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine (valued on the street at $400), 14 grams of marijuana (with a street value of $84) and $1,810 in cash.

Terrebonne Parish Narcotics Division agents assisted with the arrest.

Kirby was charged with illegal discharge of a weapon, aggravated assault, criminal trespass, driver’s license not on person, failure to register vehicle, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of firearm while in possession of narcotics, and proceeds from drug transactions.

According to the release, Kirby remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on an $115,000 bond.
