HeirLoom by HerringStone Boutique, a locally owned women’s clothing store in Houma, recently teamed up with United Way for South Louisiana and The Haven to donate more than $8,000 worth of new, quality clothing to women spending the holidays in local shelters.

“I really wanted to give back in our community, especially around this time of year,” said Bethany Martin, owner of HeirLoom Boutique. “I was so glad to partner with two organizations that I knew were going to do some wonderful things for people living in Houma. I always encourage people to shop within our community, so I want to give back to people in our community, too–I know The Haven helps shelter women in need, so I felt compelled to give to that organization.”

Other members involved in the project include Julie Pellegrin, Executive Director of The Haven, and Alina Merlos, United Way Executive Director.

“We would like to thank Bethany and her team at HeirLoom by HerringStone Boutique and United Way for South Louisiana for supporting our mission and donating beautiful new clothes to The Haven,” reads a Facebook post from The Haven. “Your generosity will spread Christmas joy to survivors residing in Margaret’s Home!”

Thank you to these three organizations for their holiday spirit, bringing good to the local community!
