Terrebonne Parish detectives have booked a Bourg man on robbery and related charges in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred on Country Drive Sunday morning.

Josiah Benjamin Armstrong, 24, was arrested Monday at 4430 La. 24 after deputies received an anonymous tip.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said Armstrong admitted that during a robbery on the 4200 block of Country Drive he took the keys to the family’s car at gunpoint.

As he attempted to flee, Larpenter said, the husband of the woman Armstrong is accused of robbing fired at the car as he attempted to flee.

The car was abandoned nearby an Armstrong, with a graze wound to his head, Larpenter said, then walked a short distance to his own home.

Armstrong was booked at the Terrebonne Parish jail Monday night for armed robbery with a firearm, false imprisonment, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.

Further details will appear in the print version of The Times, which hits the street Wednesday, and on houmatimes.com.
