Hospitalizations rise as state adds 1,022 cases to total

Today, the Louisiana Department of Health is reporting the total number of cases has risen to 269,643. That’s 1,022 more cases since yesterday. 250,292 are confirmed; 19,351 are probable.

 

The state is reporting 27 new deaths, bringing the total to 6,845 deaths. 6,535 are confirmed; 310 are probable.

 

The total of presumed recovered as of 12/7/20 is 217,930, which is 15,039 more than last week.


 

Lafourche Parish is reporting 5,439 cases. There are 4,827 confirmed and 612 probable. That’s 51 new cases since yesterday. They are reporting 152 deaths; 146 are confirmed and 6 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2 is 8.60%, up 7.50% from the week prior, which was 8.00%.

 

Terrebonne Parish is reporting 5,151 cases. There are 4,782 confirmed and 369 probable. That’s 54 more cases since yesterday. They are reporting 142 deaths; 137 are confirmed and 5 are probable. Percent positivity for the week of Nov. 26-Dec. 2 is 7.40%, down 5.10% from the week prior, which was 7.80%. Total recovered is 3,764 as of 11/25/20.

 

Statewide, there are 1,527 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 147 are on ventilators. That’s 39 more patients since yesterday, and 15 less on ventilators.


 

The total of tests reported today is 3,937,800, which is 10,459 more tests than yesterday. There are 3,785,019 molecular tests and 152,781 antigen tests.

 

There have been a total of 71,485 tests in Lafourche (67,366 molecular and 4,119 antigen) and 68,931 tests in Terrebonne (66,304 molecular and 2,627 antigen). That’s 495 more tests in Lafourche and 408 more in Terrebonne since yesterday.
