Houma man found dead

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office still does not know what killed a Houma man found dead in his pickup truck late Tuesday behind the building formerly housing Lone Star Steakhouse on Martin Luther King Boulevard, but no foul play is suspected, said Maj. Euia Usie.

A passerby contacted authorities after noticing Todd Burgess behind the steering wheel of his Dodge Ram with his head leaning back, Usie said.

Firefighters with the Bayou Cane Fire Department had to break into the vehicle to get to Burgess. Drug paraphernalia was discovered inside the truck.

Usie said the toxicology report will take five to six weeks to complete.
