Houma Police are searching for a local man accused of beating his 22-year-old girlfriend Wednesday afternoon and firing at her as she left, authorities said.
Kayan Tyson Brown, 20, of 121 Banks St., Houma, allegedly became enraged during an argument with his girlfriend and began punching and kicking her several times, police said. Officers reported the woman’s left eye was extremely bruised and almost swollen shut.
When the 19-year-old friend of the victim rushed in to stop Brown, he threw a chair at her, striking the friend on the side of the face. Authorities said the teen had a whelp on the side of her face.
As the two women left the Banks Street residence, police said Brown shot at them. No one was injured in the shooting.
Brown, who has an outstanding warrant for domestic abuse battery, is known to drive a red Mustang. Houma Police are asking anyone with information as to his whereabouts to call (985) 873-6371.
