A 39-year-old Houma woman was arrested Thursday evening for the second time for drunk driving after she drove her car into a friend’s yard and nearly struck a parked car, Houma Police said.

A friend of Deborah Rae Cissell, of 601A Suthon Ave., contact police at 7:30 p.m. after her friend drove into her yard, spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis said. When police arrived at the home n located in the area of Sixth Street and Williams Avenue n they found Cissell in a drunken state, he said. She told police that she had driven into the yard because she was visiting her friend to talk to her.

Duplantis said officers contacted Cissell’s ex-boyfriend who said she rammer her car into his truck after a disturbance between them. The fight happened at a church on Sixth Street near Williams Avenue, the man told police.

Cissell failed a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested, Duplantis said. When she was placed in the back of the police unit, Cissell began kicking and head butting the cage and windows on the unit, he said. When she attempted to kick officers trying to restrain her, a police Taser was used to get Cissell under control, Duplantis noted.

Cissell was transported to the Houma Police Department and charged with DWI (second offense), hit and run driving, resisting an officer, criminal damage to property, no driver’s license, attempted criminal damage and aggravated assault.

She is being held at the Terrebonne Parish Jail awaiting trial or bond, Duplantis said.
