Houma Police are searching for Nicholas Little – aka Nicholas Davis – in connection with Tuesday’s stabbing of a cab driver.

The 26-year-old driver for Tommy’s Cab was stabbed several times in the upper torso, said Sgt. Dana Coleman, spokesman for the Houma Police Department.

The driver reportedly picked up a passenger in the 1200 block of Aycock Street, Coleman said. The man, later identified by detective as Little, asked to be driven a couple of blocks away to the opposite side of the Intracoastal Waterway Tunnel. When the driver reached the 1300 block of Bond Street, Coleman said Little brandished a knife and repeatedly stabbed the driver.

The driver was able to flee the cab and Little reportedly drove way in the vehicle, Coleman said.

Houma Police found the cab parked behind the Houma Municipal Auditorium a short time later. The cab was unoccupied, Coleman said.

Coleman said the cab driver was found lying in the 1300 block of Bond Street. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition, the spokesman said.

Arrest warrants for attempted first-degree murder and carjacking have been issued for Little, 19, of 300 Stovall St., Coleman said. Bond has been set at $750,000.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Houma Police at (985) 873-6371.
