Infant drowns in swimming pool

A two-year-old Houma infant drowned in a neighbor’s swimming pool Tuesday evening, authorities said.

Hayden Davenport, of 5609 West Park Ave., was reported missing to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Capt. Malcolm Wolfe reported.

Before deputies arrived at the residence, the infant was found at a next-door residence, floating unresponsive in a swimming pool.

Acadian Ambulance emergency responders tried to revive the boy but were unsuccessful, Wolfe said. The boy was pronounced dead at Terrebonne General Hospital.

Wolfe said Hayden was playing with other children when he suddenly disappeared.
