Jackson withdraws council candidacy

Retired businessman and commercial driver Ed Jackson has withdrawn his name from the race for the District 4 Terrebonne Parish Council seat.

“It is with regret I must withdraw as a candidate,” Jackson said. The 72-year-old former candidate attributed his decision on health issues that have developed since his first announcing his intentions.

“If elected, I would not be able to fulfill my council obligations,” Jackson said.

Jackson, who lives in the Evergreen area, has become known as a regular in attendance at council meetings and has pushed for increased enforcement of keeping street lights in operation.
