September 17, 2008Thibodaux (LA) n Please note the following meal distribution locations within the City of Thibodaux that will be offering free hot meals to local residents today and tomorrow:
Thibodaux Family Church n 785 N. Canal Blvd.
Nicholls State University and Sodexho Catering are providing 500 hot meals to local residents beginning today at 11am and another 500 meals tomorrow at 11am for distribution at the church on N. Canal Blvd.
Also, tomorrow evening at 6pm (September 9), Drago’s of New Orleans will be distributing 700 meals at Thibodaux Family Church to residents in need of food.
St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Life Center (parking lot) n 721 Canal Blvd.
The Salvation Army will continue their food distribution at the Life Center from 11am n 1pm and from 4pm n 6pm today and tomorrow.
Flanagan’s Restaurant n 1111 Audubon Drive
At 11am today, Flanagan’s will be distributing 500 meals in the restaurant parking lot located on Audubon Avenue.
Blue Tarps – The Corps. of Engineers have setup up a blue tarp assistance program from 10am to 5pm at the Hwy. 308 Fire Station located near Lafourche Crossing. The Corps. will be on-hand to register people that need assistance with installing blue tarps on their roofs. Please bring a valid drivers license or ID to show proof of residency.
My continuing appreciation goes out to the Thibodaux Family Church, University Baptist Church, St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross, Catholic Social Services, and to the many volunteers and organizations involved.
