Lafourche Parish School District recently announced four students from each high school that were chosen to serve on the Student Advisory Council.

The council will meet periodically with the superintendent and the district staff. The students will speak on behalf of their peers and bring positive and negative feedback to the Superintendent on the daily operations of schools and ways to make improvements.

Jarod W. Martin, Superintendent of Schools for the Lafourche Parish School District, said they have really enjoyed the Student Advisory meetings,” It is a great way to get information directly from the student’s perspective,” he said, “ We feel that it is important to always make decisions with the interests of the students in mind. This process allows us to hear how the students perceive things that we are doing really well, as well as areas we can improve.”
