The man responsible for at least one in a string of burglaries on Levron Street in West Houma was arrested Tuesday, a Houma Police spokesman said.

Detectives arrested Edgar L. Wilson, 53, of 811 Goode St., Houma, in connection with the Jan. 5 burglary of a home in the 400 block of Levron Street, said Lt. Todd Duplantis.

Police are continuing to investigate burglaries on the street, Duplantis said, and more arrests may follow.

The same day of the burglary Wilson is charged with, a second burglary in the 100 block of Levron Street was reported. Two days later, on the 100 block of the same street, two more burglaries occurred, Duplantis said. And the following day, the same home Wilson burglarized was struck again, the officer explained.

Duplantis said burglars stole various items from the homes, ranging from digital cameras, to blankets, printers, computers and jewelry.

He said thieves made their way into the residences by kicking in a front or rear door.

Residents are being asked to be observant and report any unusual activity to Houma Police at (985) 873-6371.
