Police were called to a Houma eatery Thursday afternoon after a staffer reported two men left without paying their bill, Houma Police said.

Houma Police spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis said the men dined on an oyster po-boy, French fries, a hamburger combo and three Bud Lites, which totaled $18.34. After their meal, they walked out of the Pit Stop on Park Avenue without paying the tab, he said.

One of men was wearing a white sweatshirt with a camouflage jacket over his shoulder. The second was wearing a dark colored shirt and jeans, Duplantis said. They were seen walking toward New Orleans Boulevard when they left the diner, he said.

Officers patrolling the area found one of the men, William J. Thibodaux, 39, of Houma, Duplantis said. Thibodaux admitted eating the meal and leaving without paying, but said he did so because he didn’t have any money at the time, the spokesman said.

Police were unable to find the second man.

Thibodaux was issued a summons for simple theft under $100.
