The Ron Brooks Ole Miss vs. LSU Blood Drive proved to be a success after collecting 1,229 pints of blood.

The 1,229 pints of blood exceeded this year’s goal of 1,150.

An avid Ole Miss fan, Ron Brooks donated a dollar to The Foundation for Terrebonne General Medical Center for every pint of blood received bringing the total of $1,229.

“Every year, TGMC is proud to be a part of this blood drive challenge engaging sports rivals in a worthy competition,” President and CEO Phyllis Peoples said.

Additionally, Brooks donated $1,000 to the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

This ninth annual blood drive brings the total pints of blood collected up to 4,832. This year’s drive also featured 65 first-time donors.

“The benefits are tremendous for TGMC, not only will the donations replenish our blood bank, but Ron’s donation will support The Foundation for TGMC’s program, impacting our local community,” Peoples said.

Every donor received a free t-shirt, and two donors received prizes as part of a random drawing.

Ray Braud won a football signed by the Manning family. First-time donor Patrick St. Martin won a Kindle Fire.

Celebrating the completion of the 8th annual Ron Brooks LSU vs Ole Miss Blood Drive are Ron Brooks, Ray Braud, Patrick St. Martin, Mike Fakier, Cathy Kohman and Pam Spearmem.
