“Winds of Change” is the theme of the 2013 annual banquet of the Terrebonne Economic Development Foundation (TEDFo) and Terrebonne Development Authority (TEDA).

Set for Aug. 8, the event will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott, 142 Library Blvd., in Houma.

Bob Breck, chief meteorologist for Fox 8 WVUE-TV in New Orleans, is slated to deliver the keynote address, which will include a forecast for the remainder of the 2013 storm season.

“With the exception of a full-fledged economic depression, the number one threat to economic development in south Louisiana is a hurricane, TEDA CEO Steve Vassallo said in a release. “I am gratified that Mr. Breck has agreed to attend this event to provide his expertise and his foresight, and I hope that everyone who can attend will attend.

“Economic development is a tree with many branches, and one of those branches is disaster preparedness.”

The banquet begins with a cocktail social at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m.

Tickets are $60.
