The leader of the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL) will address members of the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce at its Aug. 14 luncheon meeting.


Barry Erwin, president of CABL, oversees the nonprofit organization’s work on quality-of-life issues in Louisiana.


CABL is involved in numerous policy issues at the state level, including education, state fiscal policies and governmental ethics. The organization runs the nationally recognized program, Leadership Louisiana, which currently has an alumni base of 600 state and community leaders from across Louisiana.

Erwin is expected to discuss the 2008 Louisiana Legislative Session, including ethics reform and workforce development.

The buffet luncheon will be held at the Ramada Inn on La. Hwy. 1 in Thibodaux, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The cost for chamber members is $15; $20 for non-members.
