Get your motor running and head out on the highway toward the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center where the next Louisiana State H.O.G. Rally will be held in 2013.

The rally, slated for April 4-6, is expected to draw approximately 2,500 Harley-Davidson bikers for the club’s 30th annual meeting.

“This is a huge event for Houma,” Houma-Terebonne Civic Center Director Janel Ricca said. “We’re so excited they’re coming back.” The Louisiana State H.O.G. Rally last rolled into Houma in 2007.”

“We are ecstatic to have the support of all the H.O.G. chapters in Louisiana behind us for this rally,” H.O.G. Rally Coordinator

James Champagne said. “We are so excited and ready to hit the ground running,”Ricca said the civic center is an ideal facility for this rally, with large paved parking areas, recreational vehicle hookups and “access to scenic byways.”

The Houma H.O.G. Chapter is hosting the rally. The local club has 289 active members – truckers, salesmen, managers, doctors, lawyers, teachers and other professionals and tradesmen.

“Our chapter is very unique and made up of all sorts of different people,” Houma chapter member Glynn Prosperie said. “We all have jobs that we love, but there is nothing better than jumping on a motorcycle, touring our area and being captivated by Houma’s beautiful wetlands. For some, the road is more than a place to ride, it’s where you live. We can’t wait for everyone else to be able to experience what we do every day.”

In addition to road tours, the rally will offer a variety of activities including bike games and shows, a parade and a dedicated Downtown Live After 5 concert.

“The Bayou Country’s well-known warmth and hospitality will be spotlighted at the 2013 Rally,” Bruno Bayou Country Harley-Davidson dealer Mike Bruno said. “When you ride into our community, you will immediately become a part of our Harley family.”

Claire Picou prepares to hit the road on a Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster. Hundreds of bikers are expected to participate in the Louisiana State H.O.G. Rally on April 4-6, 2013.
