The Lafourche Chamber of Commerce will honor organization members who have made outstanding contributions to the business community at their annual awards banquet on Nov. 12 at the Larose Civic Center.

This year’s keynote speaker will actually be a twosome for the elegant banquet: award-winning writer and football analyst Mike Detillier and Carley McCord, Baton Rouge native, beauty queen/power lifter/sports commentator and now co-host on Fee’s Kompany, Cleveland radio station Q104’s weekday morning show.

The awards recognize five individuals who “stand out, and go beyond the normal scope of business and day to day activities for their families, students, employees and their

community,” according to a chamber press release.

Awards to be presented include the 2015 Business Person, Business and Industry, Community Hero and Educator of the Year. This year, the chamber will also honor their Ambassador of the Year.

The banquet also serves as the chamber’s year-end fundraiser, including a silent auction featuring items from local businesses and organizations. Guests are invited to help honor the individuals that make the community a better place for families to prosper, while knocking out a little holiday shopping during the silent auction.

The event will also feature music and a cash bar for diners.

Reservations are required to attend the banquet. Tickets to the banquet are $65 for members and $75 for non-members.
