How much can you learn about good business for $10?

Plenty, ventures the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce.

The organization has partnered with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center and the South Central Louisiana Technical College to offer a series of business-focused seminars to be offered quarterly. The cost – $10 – is reasonable in large part because of a Small Business Administration grant.

The first seminar – “Using Your Financial Statements to Manage Your Profits” – is set for March 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the SCLTC’s Galliano Campus, 318 E. 90th St. in Cut Off.

Business owners will learn how to understand financial statements and successfully manage business profits. More specifically, the seminar is designed to teach businesses how to keep track of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements; keep accurate accounts of how business financial statements apply to your business; and types of questions a banker looks for in the statements.

Reservations are required to attend. Contact the chamber at (985) 693-6700 or at admin@lafourche-chamber.com to reserve a seat.
