Lone Star Steakhouse’s closure of its Houma restaurant on Feb. 18 was “strictly a business decision,” said restaurant spokesman Rick van Warren.

“The performance was not what it needed to be,” he said, “despite the best efforts of the people there.”

Van Warren said the company needs to watch its assets on behalf of stockholders.

Lone Star still operates two restaurants in Baton Rouge and Monroe, as well as 150 other outlets nationwide.

Van Warren said anyone holding a Lone Star gift card would have to use it at one of the other restaurants.
