Kim Montague, a Lima, Ohio, native, was recently named Nicholls State University director of housing operations.

“I want to maintain the positive things that are going on at Nicholls while providing leadership and encouragement to staff and students,” Montague said. “I want to make sure we listen, get facts accurately, respond in a timely and appropriate manner to concerns, operate fairly and develop systems and attitudes which provide great customer service and learning opportunities.”

With broad professional experience at such institutions as Coastal Carolina University, University of Toledo, Bemidji State University, Kent State University and the University Loft Company, Montague will handle the overall management of the Nicholls residence halls and La Maison du Bayou.

His duties will include supervision of staff, administration of keys, assignments, upkeep of facilities, budget and renovations.

Montague holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies, sociology and social studies education from the University of South Florida – as well as a Master of Education in higher education administration from Kent State University. He is married with two children.

“We are excited to welcome Kim to the Nicholls family,” said Brenda Haskins, executive director of auxiliary services. “His 17 years of housing experience at Coastal Carolina is just what is needed to create an on-campus housing program that is attractive to our students and the campus community.”
