Neurosurgeon Curtis Lee Beauregard, M.D., M.S., has joined the active medical staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman announced.


Beauregard is a practicing physician at the Southeast Neuroscience Center.


He earned a bachelor of science in chemistry and Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and then traveled to Florida, where he completed his general surgery internship and neurological surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

During residency training, Beauregard returned to Dartmouth to obtain a Masters of Science in medical outcomes analysis. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in computer-assisted image guided surgery, minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery at the University of Tennessee, Semmes-Murphey Neurological Clinic, the largest neurosurgical practice in the United States.

Thibodaux Regional is a 185-bed acute care facility. As a regional referral center, the hospital offers a broad array of inpatient and outpatient care for the people of Lafourche and seven surrounding parishes. Highly specialized services include cardiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, pulmonology, obstetrics, behavioral medicine, and both inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation services.
