Murphy named Bollinger senior manager

Richard K. Murphy has been named Bollinger Shipyards Inc.’s senior manager. As such, he will work on Coast Guard and other programs.

Murphy has a 30-year career with the U.S. Coast Guard, culminating with the rank of captain. His most recent assignment was commanding officer of the Coast Guard yard in Baltimore. Prior assignments include staff tours at Coast Guard headquarters, commanding officer of the Coast Guard civil engineering unit in Miami, two additional staff tours at the Coast Guard yard and executive officer of the Coast Guard’s civil engineering unit in Oakland, Calif.


Murphy graduated from the Coast Guard Academy with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He is a graduate of the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces with a master’s degree in national resource strategy. He also holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois, and is a Department of Homeland Security Level III acquisition program manager.

Murphy has received numerous awards and medals, including the Legion of Merit, two Meritorious Service medals, three Coast Guard commendation medals and a Coast Guard Achievement Medal.

Thomas named South La. Bank CEO

Mickey Thomas, president of South Louisiana Bank has been named to serve as the bank’s chief executive officer.

Thomas joined South Louisiana Bank in 1985 and served in a variety of positions in lending and operations. In 1991, he was promoted to chief financial officer and served as both executive vice president and chief financial officer. In 2012, he was appointed the bank’s president.


Jay Walker, senior vice president, has been appointed executive vice president of the bank. “Jay’s years of experience are an asset to South Louisiana Bank, his promotion to executive vice president is well deserved,” Thomas said.

Walker joined South Louisiana Bank in 1987 and served in a variety of positions in lending. In 2001, he was promoted to senior vice president in charge of the loan division.

Marmande earns PPACA certification


Jean Marmande with South LA Financial Services LLC recently became certified through the National Association of Health Underwriters’ (NAHU) new professional development course on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

Marmande completed the 10-hour course which provides the most up-to-date information on the key technical components of PPACA, including required health-care changes and new options for health plans.

“By taking this course, Jean has joined an elite group who is uniquely qualified to assist clients in complying with the new law,” said NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein. She understands how the market is likely to change over the next few years, and is in the perfect position to advise families and businesses in planning for the future.”


Anne Rodrigue joins TRMC med staff

Obstetrician/gynecologist Anne Rodrigue has joined Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s active medical staff.

She is a member of Thibodaux Women’s Center’s practice.


Rodrigue earned a bachelor’s degree at Tulane University before receiving her medical degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Okla. She completed her residency in obstetrics/gynecology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.

Rodrigue is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Osteopathic Association and the Louisiana State Medical Society.

Toups joins TRMC med staff


Gastroenterologist Justin P. Toups has joined Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s active medical staff.

He is a member of the practice of Drs. Charles Monier and Stephen Duplechain at Digestive Health Center in Thibodaux.

A native of Thibodaux, Toups received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans.


Rodrigue joins TRMC med staff

Obstetrician/gynecologist Christopher Rodrigue Jr. has joined Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s active medical staff.

A member of Thibodaux Women’s Center’s staff, Rodrigue is a native of Thibodaux. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. Rodrigue completed his residency in obstetrics/gynecology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.


He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
